Moody’s: Gazprom to cope with possible transit problems in Ukraine

Gazoprovod04MOSCOW, Mar 6 (PRIME) -- Risks, linked with possible consequences of Ukraine’s geopolitical tensions, will be significant but so far manageable for Russian natural gas giant Gazprom thanks to the company’s strong financial and operating results, Moody’s rating agency said Thursday.

Gazprom’s strong results will enable it to find room for manoeuvre in case of possible troubles with export to Europe via Ukraine.

The company is well presented in Ukraine, which transports 52% of Gazprom’s gas to Europe. The giant is in the most vulnerable position among other domestic companies due to economic and political risks in Ukraine, which represents 8% in Gazprom’s revenue.
