Novatek, Siemens Energy sign deal to decarbonize LNG making

MOSCOW, Dec 10 (PRIME) -- Russian gas producer Novatek and Siemens Energy have signed an agreement to decarbonize liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, including cooperation in hydrocarbon energy, the Russian gas company said in a statement on Thursday.

"According to the agreement, the parties intend to jointly develop and implement high-tech solutions to produce LNG, electricity, hydrogen and other products to maintain sustainable development initiatives and achieve the parties' goals to reduce their carbon footprint and increase environmental efficiency," the statement read.

As part of the agreement, the companies will replace natural gas with hydrocarbon-neutral hydrogen.
