MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s largest private oil company Lukoil may participate in the construction of a U.S. $3 billion natural gas processing plant in Uzbekistan as part of an international consortium, a spokesperson of the Uzbek president told RIA Novosti late on Tuesday.
The spokesperson said that Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov has discussed the matter and cooperation in a number of projects, including the development of the Kandymskaya group of fields in Uzbekistan with Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
“Issues of active cooperation on the Ustyurta fields were also touched upon,” the spokesperson said.
Lukoil has invested $3.2 billion, including about $500 million invested in January–September, in the Uzbek energy industry.
