Russia’s Rosneft to begin Kara Sea drilling in August
MOSCOW, Apr 15 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft will start drilling wells in the Kara Sea in August, Andrei Shishkin, the vice-president for energy, health, safety, and environment issues, said Tuesday.
“This year Rosneft has begun to work in the Arctic region. We will begin drilling the first Universitetskaya well in the Kara Sea in August and we plan to receive first results by the end of November,” Shishkin said.
Rosneft estimates its oil equivalent reserves on the Arctic shelf at 34.6 billion tonnes.
