Russian antitrust received bid of Fortum for 20.5% in Uniper

MOSCOW, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- RussiaТs Federal Antimonopoly Service has received a bid of FinlandТs Fortum for 20.5% in GermanyТs Uniper, a spokesperson for the service told PRIME on Tuesday.

УWeТve received it,Ф the person said.

Earlier on the day, Fortum said it had agreed with funds Elliott and Knight Vinke to buy more than 20.5% in Uniper. The sum of the deal is supposed to amount to 2.3 billion euros, with FortumТs stake in the company rising to more than 70.5%.

In September 2018, the serviceТs Director Igor Artemyev said that RussiaТs legislation on foreign investment into strategic industries does not allow Fortum to buy more than 50% in any strategic assets, and one of water services company owned by Uniper has that status.
