Source: Inter RAO not interested in power plants of En+ Group
MOSCOW, Dec 3 (PRIME) -- Power plants of multi-industry holding En+ Group are not too interesting for Russian power holding Inter RAO due to the ecological damage of the coal-burning plants and to possibility of incomplete loading, a source that was present at a meeting of Inter RAOТs management with analysts and investors told PRIME late on Monday.
УInterest is not very high due to insufficient loading in the first place and the ecological component of the plants in the second place as the plants are coal burning,Ф the source told PRIME, while another source said that Inter RAO was not interested in buying the assets.
УWe are analyzing all market possibilities, and if En+ GroupТs shareholders make a offer that could be discussed, we will consider these assets and offers,Ф a spokesperson for Inter RAO told PRIME quoting Alexei Maslov, head of the companyТs strategy and investment department.
On November 20, a spokesperson for En+ Group told PRIME that the company was considering the sale of its coal-burning thermal power plants as one of options.
According to Kommersant business daily, En+ GroupТs subsidiary Irkutskenergo entered the market with an offer to sell its coal thermal power plants with a combined capacity of up to 3.8 gigawatts (GW) together with the coal pits that are the plantsТ resource base. The starting price is 25 billion rubles, and the business daily listed Siberian Generating Company, Inter RAO, and Gazprom Energoholding as the potential buyers.
