PRESS: Magnit, Tele2 in talks to launch virtual operator Ц sources
MOSCOW, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- Russian grocery chain Magnit has started talks with mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, on the launch of a virtual operator, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday citing several sources.
The sources did not say how this virtual operator would differ from other mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Precise details have not been discussed yet, they said.
A Magnit representative told the daily that the talks are at an early stage and added that it could be a pilot project so far. Magnit intends to create its own ecosystem via additional services for customers.
Tele2 declined to comment.
The mobile operator said in February that the number of subscribers of more than 20 MVNOs working on its networks more than doubled in 2019 to 3.75 million clients.
