Transneft discusses partnership in grain traffic via NCSP

MOSCOW, Dec 6 (PRIME) -- Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft is discussing attraction of partners to Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) to improve the portТs grain traffic, Nikolai Tokarev, president of Transneft, which owns 62% in the port, told reporters on Thursday.

УWe will likely have to look at how we can optimize and raise efficiency of the portТs operation. We may have to attract someone as a partner and cooperate in the grain sphere, for instance. Grain harvests are good in Russia now, exports are high, but, unfortunately, there are many grain traders on the market, and it does not allow for a common pricing policy and for a common state-wide approach,Ф he said.

УWe are discussing this, we are in negotiations with different interested companies, and it will become clearer later. We have prepared the strategy of the portТs development, we will disclose it very soon.Ф

He said, adding that the strategy includes improvement of the railway infrastructure as well.

The Federal State Property Management Agency has a 20% stake, and subsidiaries of Russian Railways own 5.3%.
